Tips to visit Shanghai in a few days

If you do not have much time to visit Shanghai, let's say a couple of days or three, I am going to give you some tips that can help you better know this incredible Chinese city, in which the old and the most modern are mixed:

Do not hesitate to take the Transrapid from the airport to the city, it is worth feeling the speed at 430 kilometers per hour. 

  • To get around Shanghai, a taxi is recommended. They have meters and are not too expensive, a trip through Shanghai or Beijing can cost you about 2 or 3 euros.
  • There are many hotels, very modern and very well equipped. And they keep building more. If you visit Shanghai every so often, you don't recognize some parts of the city.
  • It is highly recommended that you ask the hotel to write you in Chinese the places you want to visit and that they give you a map to show it to the taxi drivers, they do not usually speak English and only understand Chinese characters.

Shanghai, markets

  • When you visit the old Shanghai, you will see the real China, the old one. It is amazing for its houses, restaurants, small shopping centers, markets, narrow streets, small very old shops. In these little shops and stalls of the market you can find everything to buy, clothes, silks, figures, kites, bags. And it is not like in Naijing Street, that haggling is more difficult, here if you like to haggle, you are going to have a great time.
  • To contemplate the city from above, visit the television tower Perla de Oriente is impressive. It has a galactic shape, with 470 meters, supported by three legs, there is a huge ball that is the viewpoint and then five more balls, smaller, ascending, which are various hotels. To go up to the viewpoint you have to pay, but it is worth less than 1 euro.
  • You can also enjoy the heights from the Jin Mao building, intended for offices to the 54th floor where the floors for the Hyatt hotel begin, where you can go up for free. If you want to go up to the viewpoint, you can do it for just under 1 euro.
