Travel to India with children

Elephants, tigers, tuc-tuc rides ... Children can also feel their own fascination for the India in a similar way as adults do. In the end, we are in the country of Mowgli. Traveling with children to India does not have to be a problem if we know how to organize ourselves, choose our destinations well and have a minimum of common sense. Here are some ideas.

Visit mani bhavan, the Bombay house where Mahatma Gandhi keeps a collection of black and white photographs, letters, souvenirs and objects that belonged to the leader of non-violence during his childhood. Another oasis of tranquility, away from the madness of urban traffic, is the Jain temple dedicated to Adinath. Here we go in, take off our shoes and listen to the monks. Visitors are marked on the forehead with a small yellow circle (made of saffron) and presented with a necklace of scented flowers around the neck. Children are well received and usually have a great time.

En Goa we exchange spirituality for Nature. Here you can still breathe the atmosphere of the Portuguese colony, especially in old goa, with its white churches, monasteries and colored houses. For children this place is now synonymous with seaside holidays: about a hundred kilometers of white sand beaches and a rich interior of coconut groves, mango groves, huge bamboo trees and rice fields. Don't forget to pack your binoculars to observe parrots, hummingbirds and even crocodiles lying in the sun along the river. Many activities are organized by the monitors of the Village Children's Activity Center Taj holiday, including diving among corals and goldfish.

En Agra, you can make a route following in the footsteps of Mowgli, the protagonist of The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. Children and adults venture into the jungle to meet the famous white tiger. A fascinating expedition, aboard a jeep and on the back of an elephant.

Just a few minimal precautions: avoid monsoon season, pay attention to children's nutrition, and avoid raw foods, fruits, and vegetables. Drink only bottled water and do not use ice cubes to refresh beverages.
