Panama It is a highly musical land, a Central American country that stands out for its tropical, Afro-Caribbean, urban, rural and folkloric rhythms.

La peasant music, also known as typical music is the traditional music of the central provinces of Panama such as Cocle, Los Santos, Herrera and Varagua. It is about Panamanian folk music, in which we find genres like cumbia, décima, marjoram and tambourine. This type of music is the result of the rich miscegenation of Spaniards, indigenous people and Africans. The instruments used are the pealing drum, the bidding drum, the box, the charuca, the triangle and the accordion.

El little drum It is a rhythm based on drums and the singer's voice accompanied by a chorus. It is very common in the festivities and carnivals.

El point It is a genre that includes melodic and choreographic form in its structure. It is considered the most beautiful and elegant dance and musical genre of Panama.

La cumbia It is very popular throughout Panama but has its epicenter in Veragua. In cumbia the instruments present are the drums, the maracas, the churuca or guacharaca, the rabel or criollo violin, the flute and the diatonic accordion.

The Congos It is an Afro-colonial musical and dance genre characterized by its violent and erotic expression.

In Panama one of the most popular rhythms is the salsa, featuring internationally famous singers such as Rubén Blades, Víctor «Vitín» Paz, Roberto Blades, Los Hermanos Gaitan, Camilo Azuquita, among others.

Another important rhythm of Panama is the reggae in spanish, where names such as Renato, Nando Boom, Chicho Man, Calito Soul, Apache Ness, El General, Danger Man, Kafu Banton, Aldo Ranks, El Roockie, Makano, Nigga, Joey Montana, Demphra, Mr. Saik, Japanese and Shark Command.
